Refresh Rate & Frame Interval Test

Measure browser animation cadence and frame interval variation in a short test, without a heavy GPU workload.

Run a 6-second test

Warm up for 1 second, then collect 5 seconds of samples. Keep this page visible on the display you want to check and close busy applications.

Ready to start.

What a browser refresh rate test measures

This tool measures timestamp intervals between requestAnimationFrame callbacks. Estimated cadence is 1000 divided by the median interval; mean frame rate uses the mean interval. A long interval exceeds 1.5 times the median and is not an exact count of dropped display frames.

The result describes browser scheduling, not a direct reading of the display's hardware refresh rate. It does not measure input latency, pixel response time or ghosting. Power saving, variable refresh rate, browser caps and background scheduling affect the result; a 120 Hz display may yield 60 Hz.

If light animation cadence is steady but shader benchmark FPS is lower, the rendering workload may explain the difference. These tests do not translate directly into game performance or GPU rankings.
