Common FPS and frame times
| Frame rate | Time per frame |
|---|---|
| 24 FPS | 41.667 ms |
| 30 FPS | 33.333 ms |
| 60 FPS | 16.667 ms |
| 90 FPS | 11.111 ms |
| 120 FPS | 8.333 ms |
| 144 FPS | 6.944 ms |
| 165 FPS | 6.061 ms |
| 240 FPS | 4.167 ms |
| 360 FPS | 2.778 ms |
How to interpret the result
Frame time (ms) = 1000 ÷ FPS; FPS = 1000 ÷ frame time (ms). At 60 FPS, the budget is about 16.67 ms per frame; at 120 FPS, it is about 8.33 ms. Doubling FPS halves the time per frame. An equal increase in FPS does not always represent an equal reduction in frame time.
This calculator shows the time budget for evenly paced frames; it does not measure your GPU. Average FPS does not reveal every frame-time spike and cannot be converted into total input latency. Keep resolution, browser, scene, and power mode consistent when comparing benchmarks, and inspect frame-time variation when investigating stutter.
